Daniel Godbout

MS Nutrition LMT PN

Dan’s passion and drive in the health sciences was born in 2001 during a health class in undergraduate school.  Having no interest at the time, he thought the class was going to be boring. His path in life would become forever changed during the nutrition segment of the course.  Dr. John Bagnulo PhD taught the material with passion and in a way that could be appreciated by students with little scientific background. In the end, the experience sparked a new curiosity. Dan continued by taking two nutrition courses out of this new personal interest towards improving his own wellness.  It was through those classes that he eventually realized that his interest had grown into a calling.

This calling would initiate a move to Washington (from Maine) where he attended Bastyr University to pursue graduate training in nutrition research. He enjoyed the immersive experience and enjoyed doing research, especially playing in the lab. However, Dan found research to be too socially isolating for him. He also felt a growing desire to work with people more directly. This would lead him to search for another opportunity. This search eventually led Dan to discover massage therapy.

He was quite unsure about this option, and almost passed on it. But his desire to work with people prompted him to take a chance on it. Dan discovered that he has an aptitude for massage therapy and that he loves doing the work. More recently, he revisited nutrition and decided to work as a nutrition coach.

Dan takes the time to get to know you, listen to your story and goals, and do whatever he can to help you to realize and sustain them. He welcomes the chance to work with other members of your healthcare team.  Dan will also refer you to another healthcare practitioner if he thinks that you might benefit.

Dan has been a massage therapist since 2015, with a focus on injury recovery and movement therapy.  Dan also holds a MS Nutrition (Bastyr University) which culminated in a research thesis where he investigated if turmeric could block a fat caused model of insulin resistance in liver cells.
